The mission of Hawk Mountain Sanctuary Association is to conserve birds of prey worldwide by providing leadership in raptor conservation science and education, and by maintaining Hawk Mountain Sanctuary as a model observation, research and education facility.
Founded by Rosalie Edge in 1934, Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is the first refuge for birds of prey. Our mission is supported by a global network of members, current and former trainees, volunteers, staff, donors and visitors. In 1938, Hawk Mountain Sanctuary Association was incorporated as a non-profit organization, dedicated to its local-to-global approach to raptor conservation, education and outreach.
